Love bids us welcome

Holy Week and Easter 2026

Palm Sunday

Sunday 29 March, 11.00

A Eucharist with hosannas, procession and palms, as we journey with Jesus into Jerusalem. With a reading from the Passion Narrative.

Maundy Thursday

Thursday 2 April, 19.30

Gentle and solemn as we recall and rehearse the Last Supper and wash each other’s hands in honour of our own mortal frailty and resilience.

Followed by the Gethsemane Vigil at 20.30: a brief hour of silence in the Lady Chapel by candlelight, for those who can stay on.

Good Friday

Friday 3 April

12.00-13.00: Making the Easter Garden. An activity for children and their grown-ups.

13.00-14.00: Stations of the Cross. Pictures and poems to help us enter the mystery of Christ’s passion.

14.00-15.00: the Dying of the Light. Prayers and hymns and scripture and silence as the darkness deepens and the light goes out.

Holy Saturday

Saturday 4 April, 20.00

Remembering the journey and kindling the Easter Fire outside in the dark, then sharing it around as we celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter.

Easter Sunday

Sunday 5 April, 11.00

Filling the church with Hallelujahs as we gather from east and west and north and south to celebrate the New Day with our festival Eucharist. Bring a bell to ring!
