Pilgrim
a Course for the Christian Journey
Wednesdays through the Autumn/Fall
18.30-20.00 in the Hall
Beginning on Wednesday 10 September
with the first of six sessions on
the Creeds
Come September, we'll be starting something new at the church.
Pilgrim is a new teaching resource from the Church of England that explores what it means to travel through life with Jesus Christ. It offers an approach of participation, not persuasion.
Participants are encouraged to practice the ancient disciplines of biblical reflection and prayer, exploring key texts that have helped people since the early Church.
We'll be giving it our own local flavour, of course, but we'll be using the course material to help guide us - and inspire us.
We'll begin with six sessions on the Creeds, the statements of faith we use Sunday by Sunday.
You can see the first session here.
And if we find it enjoyable and helpful, we'll go on to another six sessions, on the Eucharist, and then, next year, another six on the Bible, and then finally another six on the Church and the Kingdom of God.
Pilgrim assumes very little understanding or knowledge of Christianity, but if you have already travelled some way in your faith I trust you'll still find it helpful - and that others will benefit from your insights and experience.
If you’d like to take part in these first six sessions please let Nick the Chaplain know by Sunday 31 August.
